Obviously, I am talking about Christmas.
Technically in my family, Christmas is not to be mentioned before 19th November as birthdays come first. The minute it gets to 19th November I become increasingly excited about what is coming.
I have a box of decorations ready to come out and I will go through them all, I am excited to get out my ceramic jingle and my decorations and put Phil Spector’s Christmas Gift for You on my record player as I drink something mulled and eat something spiced.
After that, I will curl up in bed with my electric blanket and the fantastic bedding that Adam bought me from George at Asda. Look at it! It is covered in pin-up calendar men! I have red pillowcases to use with it and am going to add red cushion covers to my bed cushions for the month.
Though it is early I also will start Christmas Cards on 19th November. This is already too late to send an economy Christmas card to New Zealand but allows time to send all my cards by standard post both internationally and locally. You can check the postage dates on The Royal Mail website.
I will not put my decorations up until December but will order my Christmas tree. I will not listen to much Christmas music either, but I will start working on my December playlist which will initially have wintery songs before I start to add the all-out Christmas tunes!
When do you start uttering the C word and planning for Christmas?
