Here is an update on where my life is at the end of January 2018 (what?):
Relationship Status: [redacted]
Financial Status: I did a scary thing and went to the bank to sort out my finances. So they are a lot better than they have been and I am a little less anxious. It is liberating. I also sold a bunch of furniture for cash money that means I can afford my holiday next month.
Mostly wearing: the five outfits I didn’t pack (after my washing machine was fixed).
Mostly eating: bread, cheese and bread with cheese. Occasional pizza (AKA fancy bread with cheese)
Mostly listening to Pod Save America on tour, the Paris Review Podcast and No One Ever Really Dies by NERD. Also, my Spotify weekly playlists as they have been hitting it out of the park lately.
Mostly drinking: tea, water, lemsip, juice anything I can get my hands on I have been dehydrated due to spending December ill and I need fluids.
Mostly buying: boxes and wrapping materials, because moving house. Also movers and a storage unit (these were hired not bought) it has been an expensive month.
Total step count:231, 672 (average of 7,473 per day, not brilliant but not too bad considering I was unwell)
Other stuff I did:
I am calling January a continuation of the ‘Let It Go’ theme from last year. I sold all the furniture I owned that reminded me of Twig. I left my flat which I loved but which I had shared with him, I let go of my utter paralysing fear of the bank. I moved to a small (tiny) room in a furnished flat share and it feels kind of scary but also kind of liberating. So yeah guys, getting rid of stuff feels good. Next, I would quite like to let go of being ill, please.
My favourite things I have written this month:
Blog-wise it has been an introspective month. Meanwhile, I have also been writing short stories and poems to submit for publication (eep!)
Rewriting my own rules Or an alternative vision of happily ever after
not that happily ever after is a thing
My favourite things other people have written this month:
Jess wrote about a winter break in Copenhagen and as I am going next month I was excited to read it:
On the travel vibe, the wonderful Smidge wrote a guide to part of my own beloved city
Have you seen Jemma’s #shinyhappybloggers hashtag on Instagram? It makes me happy every day
